Environment

Did you know that protein powder is milk based leftovers from cheese and milk production. This was seen as waste until a new use was found in the 90's. We believe it still makes the world a little bit better, one shake at a time, when we offer previously seen waste material to millions of people.

REUSED PACKAGING
Our lids have always been strictly produced from recycled aluminium. Our cans have always been made from recycled PET plastic, ready for a new life.

CLIMATE COMPENSATED DELIVERY

We always require our shipping companies to have climate compensated deliveries! We cover these costs so you don't have to!

PROTEIN.COM

We sort our waste, compress cardboard and recycle. We recycle aluminum cans, use renewable electricity. Our warehouse is centrally located in the city, so most employees bicycle or take municipal transport to work! Because, that's what we do in Sweden!

LOCALLY SOURCED & PRODUCED LABELS
Our product labels are produced in a nearby factory. It contributes to a better environment while supporting local businesses and jobs!

PROTEIN POWDER IS ORIGINALLY A WASTE-PRODUCT

That means we found a new use for a previously thrown away product no one used. Amazing for Planet Earth!

INTERNAL WORKSHOPS AND EDUCATION

We have workshops or internal education regarding climate impact, to constantly question whether we can become more resource efficient.

How is food and drink transported in the most environmentally friendly way?
What is most environmentally efficient if you are going to make juice? Is it shipping a truckload of oranges to the factory or a can of concentrate? What does that mean?

Step one is to remove all the liquid from the oranges where they are picked. Then only the powder, that is, the juice concentrate, needs to be shipped. The separated water from the oranges is drinkable and therefor used locally. This leads to less carbon dioxide emissions as shipping volume and weight are reduced. When the powder reaches the juice factory, water is added again. The result is the same orange juice.

Protein.com does not sell oranges, but the same logic can be applied to protein powders and meal replacements. Shipping powder instead of water is environmentally friendly. Is there even a more environmentally friendly way to ship food?
